A Happy Summary of My Year 2016

5 High points of 2016

As the year comes to an end...and we are going to welcome 2017, I wanted to share with you all some of the amazing moments in my life...some are pretty big some are small tiny things that happened but they hold a huge place in my heart.

With that I want to tell you all to be happy and positive...2016 was not a best year for many people...it was a decent year for me as well, but I tried and maintained a positive vibe and to look something better in everything.
Be hopeful!! If this was not a great year for you all..trust god, the coming year will be.

1. I completed my sister's wish

If you are following our blog from beginning, you guys must be familiar with the void in my life that was created when my soul sister passed away in 2015. (Talk about the worst year now). She had her set of bucket list that had so many things that she did when she was here and things she wanted to do. One of such things was to get a tattoo with her elder sister ( Kapila ) and we both decided to complete her wish and we both got inked. We made a "sister's" tattoo that Sonu had selected, the symbol of love we three share with each other.

Again a tiny gesture but that holds a huge place in my heart.

We also shot small clips when we were getting it done. Watch it here

2. My best friend's wedding

My best friend got married on 23rd April,2016 to my elder brother. I could have written my brother's wedding..but it will always be my best friend's wedding for me as I had dreamt of this day since forever. It was a perfect celebration with all my loved ones with us. The feeling was of immense love and nostalgia as we both had dreamt and planned for this day since ages. I was in the worst front in terms of my health but still postivity kept me going (so don't loose hope).

3. I overcame the pain... Fell in love again

I had to undergo a spine surgery for disc degeneration. I cannot tell you guys how painfully I have lived the last 4-5 years with this spine condition that escalated to almost loosing 50-60% of sensation in my left leg. (Worst years of my life) but I kept going.

During the period of my surgery my fiance was with me throughout like a solid pillar of support, from helping in turning on the sides to taking me to washroom and helping me walk to taking me to movies when I felt homesick he did everything to make me feel better about the situation...I fell in love with him again. I feel so blessed to have him in my life. (Babe, if you read this, I Love You!!)

4. We finally moved into our own house

Most of my life we lived in a rented place. But I was still glad we had a roof to sleep in. But the joy and security one feels when you move into your own house is immeasurable. I am glad my parents worked so hard to provide us with all the things we could ask for.

It is a dream house. I have my own room. Everything little thing in this house was handpicked with lots of love. And I am thankful to god for giving us all that we prayed for.

5. Dream came true

I always wanted to start my blog (I know, everyone says that) but who said that we cannot have same dream as others? Do we have patent rights on dreams? No!!!! We don't, so if you have a dream follow it..don't think what people will think, I will be judged, people will laugh at me etc etc. Honey!!! People will keep judging you till the day you die, some will laugh at you or behind you. But let your work and success speak for you.

I am glad Kapila di gave me this push by creating this blog for me, with me. And we are here with you all as Every Little Thing: Happiness.

I promise to keep working hard everyday, and let my work speak for me.

That's it you guys!!

The year has been tough for many, but we all can atleast find small tiny things, gestures or events to be positive and hopeful for future, because one year will not make you big..but it will certainly not break you bad.

Keep loving yourself,

Be hopeful and party hard because the future awaits you.

Happy new year my lovelies.

Cheers to new plans, resolutions and all beautiful things we dream of.

Lotsss of love,
Priyanka

Shimla - Quick Break| Winter Vacation| Holiday before Holiday Season

As you all must already be aware of my recent vacation. I bring to you details of our vacation.
Hope you like the blog. Shimla, capital city of Himachal Pradesh, is a place everybody wants to visit.

How we Traveled

I feel the best way to travel to Shimla is by train via Kalka. We were travelling from Delhi.
There are number of trains that run between Delhi and Kalka. We took the Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi. Our train started from Delhi at 7:40 AM and we were in Kalka at 11:40 AM.

Kalka is connected to Shimla through narrow gauge toy train. The Kalka-Shimla Toy Train is a journey one should not miss. We boarded the Himalayan Queen which is scheduled at 12.10 PM. The journey between Kalka and Shimla took around 5 hours.

The toy train passes through multiple tunnel and your eyes are treated to beautiful sceneries of Mountains and Valleys of Deodar trees.

Where we Stayed

Thanks to Mommy and her Job at Bank of India, holiday homes have always been our bet for stay options during vacations.
None of us like those fancy hotels. What we look for are clean place to stay with good food for dinner option.
The associated hotel’s name is The TARA Lodge (do not go by the name J it was quite good with basic amenities and really good food!). It is walking distance from the High court parking and the walk to the MALL Road was also very easy.

Tourist We

We reached on Saturday evening and spend the rest of the day at ease. Had some hot cup of tea and dinner and got accustomed to the weather. It wasn’t very chilly as there has been no Snowfall yet.

Day 1 – Local Tour
=============

It was more about seeing the city/town around. Our destinations –

  • Army Museum
  • Indian Institute of Advance Studies

  • Sankat Mochan Temple
  • Tara Devi Temple

  • Johnny’s Wax Museum
  • The Famous MALL road

My Nykaa Haul

Hey everyone!!🤗

So you must be knowing that Nykaa had this amazing winter sale going on from start of December and there were quite a few things that I was eyeing and got them at quiet a good discounted price in the sale.

They had upto 30% off on all makeup products and an additional 5% if you make a prepaid order, which I thought was very smart and good in a way..who had that much of cash anyways for COD orders.😄

So Kapila and I decided to splurge on some of the makeup products that we wanted to buy. I will be sharing overview of all the products that I got for myself, in this post because I will be doing a seperate review for all the products later.

So starting off, I was quite interested in buying Maybelline's V-face range which they recently launched before Amazon Fashion Week. I mean, i have been using high end contouring and bronzing products and was secretly wishing if there could be any drugstore brand coming up with these kind of products and my prayers got answered. 😇 I got some of the other products that I was wanting too.

So here is the list of the products got from  Nykaa sale.

1. Nykaa Gold Rush nailpaint duo - I like the packaging..its handy cute and compact. I am still to use them but I am already in love with the colours. The shades I got are,
121- Gold soul
122- Champagne gold.
Both the colours are shades of gold but with totatlly different reflexes.
They were priced at Rs. 249 each for 9ml and as a combo they were for Rs.498 and I got them at discount for Rs.468.12.

Gold Soul

Champagne Gold

2. Nykaa BLACK magic Liquid Liner -
I was in need of a black liquid liner, so I decided to give this one a go. It is priced at Rs.299 for 5ml of product. Packaging is cute and sturdy but nothing fancy. Jet black packaging with nykaa written on it in silver. I got it in shade 01 Super black. Comes with a outer pack which is pink in colour.

3. Loreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner -
I have heard so many people raving about this liner and I was out of my Plum kajal. So I got this one in the shade 210 charcoal Charbon. This indeed is a very pigmented and very creamy. It is priced at Rs.575 but I got it for Rs.460 as Loreal products too were on 20-30% off.

4. Maybelline V-FACE duo stick -
Absolutely love the packaging of this one, reminds me so much of Nyx's contour stick. Its handy and the shade I got is medium-dark. This was priced at Rs.650 and since maybelline was at 30% off I got this for Rs.553.

5. Maybelline V-FACE blush contour -
I was not quite sure how the blush contour worked but i wanted to give this a try, so I got this in shade PINK. I din't have a good pink blush and this looked like a good pigmented blush. This was priced at Rs.550 for 4g of product but i got this at Rs.468 after discount.

6. Maybelline V-FACE duo powder -
This looks like promising product. I like the packaging. All the V-FACE range products comes with a small brush with it which I liked. This is all in one product with the bronzer and compact clubbed together. I got it in shade Medium Dark. It is priced at Rs.550 for 8.5g product and after discount I got this for Rs.468.

7. Maybelline Lash-Sensational Mascara-
By the end of this blog you guys must have seen I have got the products i was in total need .😂 And its true I was using maybelline Hypercurl mascara for quite a long time and this mascara was wooing everyone hence I got this one for trying. The pacaking is simple and decent nothing fancy. I like the colour of the bottle which is rose-gold and the name written in black. I got it in waterproof variant. Hoping for best with this one. This mascara is priced at Rs.500 for 9.0ml of product and I got this for Rs.450.

Thats it guys, these are all the products I got from the Nykaa winter sale. Kapila will be soon sharing her haul post with you all with lots of amazing stuff she has got, you guys wouldn't want to miss that post.😍

I will be doing a full detailed review of the V-FACE range by Maybelline. So stay tuned for that.😄

Till then be classy and fabulous. 😎

Lots of love,
Priyanka. 💛

Managing Curly hair - Corioliss 3 in 1 Digital Heated Hot Brush

Curly hair??super curly?? Oh god the frizz!! The unmanageable hair day. Well that is me, almost daily!!

I do not bother much about it. However, on some days, it gets difficult. I have to either wait for hours at the salon to get my hair set in a particular style or just tie them half and get going. But then, I don’t want to keep giving my hair in any stranger’s hands for setting/styling them up. After all it’s the era of DIY and taking control of things. So I decided to try this brush without being able to find any reviews (on this particular brand) or demonstrations on hair similar to my own. I have very curly hair which are curly when wet and get very frizzy and lifeless after drying. It is only after 1-2 days of washing that I get some shine to my hair.

I wanted a brush for those mornings when my hair was already dry and I didn't have time to either wash and apply product or use a straightener.

About the brush

Corioliss Hot Brush 3 in 1 Digital Heat Brush. Designed with gently massaging, heat-protective bristles, this innovative brush glides effortlessly through hair, easily detangling strands while straightening

Available Color
  • Black
  • Grey

Price

Originally priced for INR 3999. It is currently available for Rs. 2299

Where to Buy

So I washed my hair just before trying this brush, towel dried my hair so that it would not dry completely and remain less frizzy. I applied a small amount of Moroccan argon oil as a heat protectant to my hair.

The brush took about 2 minutes to heat to 230 degrees (it reaches a max of 450) and within 5 minutes of brushing my shoulder length hair was smooth and manageable to be left open for the day.

The brush is not a perfect, but delivers exactly what I wanted for a quick style before work or a casual day out. May be with a little more heat (around 300 degrees) I would have got the straight hair I like. I never liked those bamboo shoot kind of straight hair which kills the volume of the hair.

Verdict

Plus points:
  • The brush heats up very fast.
  • It is easy to use. As easy as combing your hair.
  • It maintains temperature and doesn’t heat up.
  • It reduces frizziness of your hair and tames those super dry hairs.
  • The brush smoothens waves and detangles the strands
  • It also adds shine and improves hair texture.

Negatives: None for us!!

Thus, the brush is really easy to use and works effectively. It works better when you detangle your hair first. The brush doesn’t work very well at the ends of strands. It can be used daily because it doesn’t damage strands. Three words to describe our experience: We loved it! ❤❤❤❤

Before and After

Hope this review is helpful to you. Do let us know in the comment section below how you manage your frizz and get that easy peasy daily look.

Love!!

The Journey : FAT to FAB

"Bohot wieght gain kar liya" (You have gained so much weight.)

When this comes from your parents. you need to start working on your body.

Not that this was first time I was pointed out for my weight.  I have always been a fat child (well... pleasently plum. I used to call myself) all my childhood. "Over sized clothes" what are those? I hardly got readymade clothes of my size. But my parents always stood by my side.

With Pregnancy, I gained even more. When my daughter was 8 months, I was unable to play around with her, I was not able to walk holding her. Used to get breathless while talking.

That day when dad said those words I was forced to look at myself an introspect.  what have I done with my body. So many issues... Hypothyroidism, high sugar levels, BP on border lines.

I so wanted to loose weight but dint know where to start.

I had almost given up on myself and accepted that I have to live with the health issues I am facing due to my weight when I saw one of my old school friend's post and her weight loss journey.

I was inspired and decided to take help from her.

I still remember how anxiously I pinged her and decided to start her program.

With her guidance, I started my weight loss journey in Jun,2016.

It was initially very difficult to convince family that I will be on a strict regime and I will stick to it (Knowing my love for food of any kind).

It looked difficult to me and I was also not sure how far I will be able to sustain it. Seeing those 200 gms-500gms weight loss each day was so motivational that I wanted to work more towards it.

In 1 month I lost 7.1 kgs and it inspired me so much more to work towards gaining a healthy weight.

The program helped me understand my body so well. I knew how and when my body would need what.

The change in me was noticeable. I did not want to stop and continued with the program.

5 months in the program with lots of determination, dedication, consistency and the zeal to achieve my ideal weight I still continue to work towards it.

I get compliments from everyone. My parents are so happy to see me healthy and fit. I play with my 3 yrs old daughter so much with no health issues. My Hypothyroidism vanished, my sugar is under control, BP is completely normal.

That's my weight loss journey and that's me today.

Do let me know if you would like me to post some tips or tricks to loose weight.
