A Happy Summary of My Year 2016

5 High points of 2016

As the year comes to an end...and we are going to welcome 2017, I wanted to share with you all some of the amazing moments in my life...some are pretty big some are small tiny things that happened but they hold a huge place in my heart.

With that I want to tell you all to be happy and positive...2016 was not a best year for many people...it was a decent year for me as well, but I tried and maintained a positive vibe and to look something better in everything.
Be hopeful!! If this was not a great year for you all..trust god, the coming year will be.

1. I completed my sister's wish

If you are following our blog from beginning, you guys must be familiar with the void in my life that was created when my soul sister passed away in 2015. (Talk about the worst year now). She had her set of bucket list that had so many things that she did when she was here and things she wanted to do. One of such things was to get a tattoo with her elder sister ( Kapila ) and we both decided to complete her wish and we both got inked. We made a "sister's" tattoo that Sonu had selected, the symbol of love we three share with each other.

Again a tiny gesture but that holds a huge place in my heart.

We also shot small clips when we were getting it done. Watch it here

2. My best friend's wedding

My best friend got married on 23rd April,2016 to my elder brother. I could have written my brother's wedding..but it will always be my best friend's wedding for me as I had dreamt of this day since forever. It was a perfect celebration with all my loved ones with us. The feeling was of immense love and nostalgia as we both had dreamt and planned for this day since ages. I was in the worst front in terms of my health but still postivity kept me going (so don't loose hope).

3. I overcame the pain... Fell in love again

I had to undergo a spine surgery for disc degeneration. I cannot tell you guys how painfully I have lived the last 4-5 years with this spine condition that escalated to almost loosing 50-60% of sensation in my left leg. (Worst years of my life) but I kept going.

During the period of my surgery my fiance was with me throughout like a solid pillar of support, from helping in turning on the sides to taking me to washroom and helping me walk to taking me to movies when I felt homesick he did everything to make me feel better about the situation...I fell in love with him again. I feel so blessed to have him in my life. (Babe, if you read this, I Love You!!)

4. We finally moved into our own house

Most of my life we lived in a rented place. But I was still glad we had a roof to sleep in. But the joy and security one feels when you move into your own house is immeasurable. I am glad my parents worked so hard to provide us with all the things we could ask for.

It is a dream house. I have my own room. Everything little thing in this house was handpicked with lots of love. And I am thankful to god for giving us all that we prayed for.

5. Dream came true

I always wanted to start my blog (I know, everyone says that) but who said that we cannot have same dream as others? Do we have patent rights on dreams? No!!!! We don't, so if you have a dream follow it..don't think what people will think, I will be judged, people will laugh at me etc etc. Honey!!! People will keep judging you till the day you die, some will laugh at you or behind you. But let your work and success speak for you.

I am glad Kapila di gave me this push by creating this blog for me, with me. And we are here with you all as Every Little Thing: Happiness.

I promise to keep working hard everyday, and let my work speak for me.

That's it you guys!!

The year has been tough for many, but we all can atleast find small tiny things, gestures or events to be positive and hopeful for future, because one year will not make you big..but it will certainly not break you bad.

Keep loving yourself,

Be hopeful and party hard because the future awaits you.

Happy new year my lovelies.

Cheers to new plans, resolutions and all beautiful things we dream of.

Lotsss of love,
Priyanka

Plum Goodness - New Vanilla & Fig Irresistible Bundle – Review

Picture taken from Plum Goodness site
Dry skin!! Winters make it the worse with flaked or super dried cheeks 🙅 That is so me in winters. On one side I am a winter person on the other side I get so annoyed with it due to the harshness in the winds. Topping all this, my sensitive skin makes it really difficult for me to keep my skin healthy and glowing.

I am a fan of plum’s products as most of them are meant for my skin type. All their products are free of all known irritants like SLS, propylene glycol, DEA and PABA.  My association with plum's products started with their Kajal. I was also using their Chamomile & White Tea SunCare 3-in-1 Bundle in summers for my skin care. I must say here, I absolutely loved it.

Plum recently launched their Vanilla & Fig Range and trust me when I say this, I am totally bowled over with the products.

I brought their bundle from the website Plum Goodness and It was shipped to me in 2 days.

The bundle contains 3 products from their Vanilla and Fig Range
  • Vanilla & Fig The Rich Shake Body Wash
  • Vanilla & Fig Sweet Fondue Body Lotion
  • Vanilla & Fig Feel The Fudge Body Butter

Let me take you through each of the products in the bundle one by one.

Vanilla & Fig The Rich Shake Body Wash

The Body wash comes in a sturdy bottle with a pump on the top like most of the body wash bottles. It has the twist and lock feature which means no accidental spilling.
I loved the vanilla flower print and the PLUM’s Logo customized for the range.

It has a very creamy texture which is great for my super dry body in winters. The smell is so yummy that I instantly wanted to have Vanilla shake :P
The Pleasant, soft vanilla fragrance actually lingers after the shower.
I fell in love with it immediately.
Individually it is priced for INR 400/-
Definitely a good buy if you are looking for a rich, creamy showering experience.

Vanilla & Fig Sweet Fondue Body Lotion

The Body lotion also comes in pump dispenser packaging like the body wash. It also has the twist and lock feature which means no accidental spilling.

This is one truly rich and nourishing body lotion which provided me the much need moisture. It absorbs quickly and does not feel sticky at all.
The body lotion has shea butter and sunflower seed oil which is great for nourishment and hydration of our skin in the harsh winters.  Also since it has Vanilla fruit water and Fig extract it is a great nourishing body lotion with lots of vitamins and antioxidants.
I used it after shower and it got absorbed so well in my skin. The soothing fragrance stays with me for a very long time making me feel so yummy about myself :P
Individually it is priced for INR 425/-

Vanilla & Fig Feel The Fudge Body Butter

Body Butter was the first product I tried out of the three. I just couldn’t wait after looking at it. It is light brown in color giving it a chocolate kind of appearance.
Coming to the packaging, the Fudge Body Butter comes in a Convenient tub kind of box. I wish the tub was of my size and I could just take a dive in it.

It totally goes by the claims from the brand “A deep hydrating, emollient body butter that's not just effective, but a sheer delight to smell and feel.

This has shea butter, soothing vanilla and antioxidant fig to give all the care you skin needs.
It is slightly thicker in consistency than the body lotion. This one absorbs in the skin like magic and your skin instantly starts feeling “plum” and nourished.
Individually it is priced for INR 450/-

Overall Rating

I loved the Plum Goodness Vanilla & Fig Irresistible Bundle. I would definitely recommend it.

I would give it 4.5 on 5(actually 5.. ;) for the Yummiest fragrance ever!! )

You can buy the three products together for INR 1099/- from here

Hope you like it too. Do leave your comment below on how you liked using it? And which one is your favorite.

See you around soon guys!!

Love

Maybelline V-Face Range review and swatches on medium and dark skin.

Hey everyone

I had been MIA from the blog since a week as I was on a vacation to attend my college bestie's wedding. It was an amazing experience.

In my last post I shared with you all my nykaa winter sale haul, where I purchased Maybelline's V-Face range for trying the products as I was quite impressed to see the whole idea of Maybelline speeding up their game and launching contouring products at an affordable range before Amazon India Fashion Week in Delhi.

As I was going to leave for the wedding shortly, I decided to skip on carrying my other contouring and highlighting products and take these three products for testing them out instead. So to know how these product worked for me in detail keep on reading.☺

RING CEREMONY AND COCKTAIL NIGHT - The very first ceremony we had to attend after reaching the venue was Ring ceremony and Cocktail party. Since we were travelling from morning I decided to go for a simple eye look and highlighted face.

And here I decided to use this range so that I will be done with the look within no time.

V-FACE duo stick -
I am a huge fan of cream contour products. I was very excited to try this product as this would be one of the most pocket friendly cream contour available in India. But sadly i was not much impressed with the product. I got the duo stick in shade medium- dark, the stick has two ends and is in a retractable form with highlighter stick and contour stick on each end. I was really happy with the highlighter stick as it was pigmented and was very creamy in texture. But, since inlike my highlight to be blindning 😂 this one was too toned down for my look that day, and thankfully i was carrying the other highlighter with i used on top o this one. If you use highlighters on daily basis then this is a great one for that daily subtle glow as it makes your skin glow making it look natural and flawless.
Coming to the contour part, the contour stick was creamy and very pigmented and I was impressed by it. But the colour somehow was too orange on me, even after blending the product for quiet a long time I couldn't make the orange colour to tone down according to my skin. Hence I would not repurchase this shade, and since this range has only two shades i.e light-medium and medium-dark it will be waste of money for me.
This has a creamy-waxy texture, is highly pigmented and a very different chemical kind of smell, although the smell is not over powering it did bug me out a little.
It is priced at Rs.650 which is a good part.
So I will rate this one a 3 out of 5.

Buy it here - Nyka

V-FACE blush contour - It was a total love at first application for me. The blush has three shades and the one I bought was in shade pink, since I was going for a very pink glowing highlight I wanted to put on a mauve blush and this was just perfect. I mixed all the three colour together and voila!!! I had the perfect shade that I needed.
The blush is highly pigmented and hence I would suggest you start with picking less product and then build the colour as per your liking. Another tip can be to use a duo-fiber brush to apply this blush as that brush picks less product and gives and even application.
It is priced for Rs.550 for 4g of product. This blush comes in three shades
1. Peach,
2. Brown and
3. Pink.
Overall, I really liked the pigmentation, colour pay-off and the texture of the blush. It is easily blendable as well.
So i would give this a 4.5 out of 5.

Buy it here - Nyka

V-FACE duo powder - Well, I did not carry any extra contour products with me and since I was not quiet happy with the contour I did using the duo-stick, I decided to use the dark shade in this Duo-face powder and I was really impressed with the shade. It matched my skin tone and as I started building the product it gave this natural looking contour to my face. Hence, this one became my saviour for the night. Although its not highly pigmented, it does a good job nonetheless. I used the light side to set my t-zone and that too did a good job in keeping my concealer intact.
The texture is soft and is decently pigmented.
The V-FACE duo powder is priced at Rs.550 for 8.5g of product.
I would give this 4.5 out of 5.

Buy it here - Nyka

Now coming to the swatches, as i had bought the contour stick and the face powder in shade medium-dark, I decided to show you guys the swatches on both medium and dark skin-tones. I am fair to medium and my sister-in law is a dusky beauty. So any of you who are of the darker skin tone you may get a clear idea of these shades will suit you or not.

V-FACE BLUSH -

My skintone -

Dark skintone -

V-FACE DUO POWDER-

My skintone -

Dark skintone -

V-FACE DUO STICK-

Dark skintone -

Overall thoughts -
For the price range of the products these are fairly good. Altough I did not like the duo contour stick, I really wished they had more shades in this variant, as i really liked the texture and pigmentation of this contour stick.
The blush and the face powder are good products if you are looking for something that is not too pricy but does work good as a blush and contour powders. You can definately give them a go.

Thats all for this review. Please like the post if it is helpful for you and also follow us on instagram and snapchat for more fun updates.

Shimla - Quick Break| Winter Vacation| Holiday before Holiday Season

As you all must already be aware of my recent vacation. I bring to you details of our vacation.
Hope you like the blog. Shimla, capital city of Himachal Pradesh, is a place everybody wants to visit.

How we Traveled

I feel the best way to travel to Shimla is by train via Kalka. We were travelling from Delhi.
There are number of trains that run between Delhi and Kalka. We took the Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi. Our train started from Delhi at 7:40 AM and we were in Kalka at 11:40 AM.

Kalka is connected to Shimla through narrow gauge toy train. The Kalka-Shimla Toy Train is a journey one should not miss. We boarded the Himalayan Queen which is scheduled at 12.10 PM. The journey between Kalka and Shimla took around 5 hours.

The toy train passes through multiple tunnel and your eyes are treated to beautiful sceneries of Mountains and Valleys of Deodar trees.

Where we Stayed

Thanks to Mommy and her Job at Bank of India, holiday homes have always been our bet for stay options during vacations.
None of us like those fancy hotels. What we look for are clean place to stay with good food for dinner option.
The associated hotel’s name is The TARA Lodge (do not go by the name J it was quite good with basic amenities and really good food!). It is walking distance from the High court parking and the walk to the MALL Road was also very easy.

Tourist We

We reached on Saturday evening and spend the rest of the day at ease. Had some hot cup of tea and dinner and got accustomed to the weather. It wasn’t very chilly as there has been no Snowfall yet.

Day 1 – Local Tour
=============

It was more about seeing the city/town around. Our destinations –

  • Army Museum
  • Indian Institute of Advance Studies

  • Sankat Mochan Temple
  • Tara Devi Temple

  • Johnny’s Wax Museum
  • The Famous MALL road

Do visit my YouTube channel to see my travel Vlog of Day1.

THE PARTYHOLIC FAB BAG || DECEMBER 2016 FAB BAG || REVIEW

The party has already begun and Fab bag has come up with “The Partyholic Fab Bag!”  for the last month of 2016.

I received my bag a bit late as I had renewed my subscription in the first week of the December itself.

Lets see how the FAB bag fared this time.

The bag itself looks flashy and Partyholic. It is a metallic blue and black checkered pouch style bag. I am somehow not feeling very great about the fab bag’s bag from past few months.

The products in the December 2016 Fab Bag are –

Be A Bombshell Lip Stain – Intoxicated [Full size – 750 INR] –

I had renewed my subscription for Fab bad after a sneak peak of the products. So when I subscribed I was given few options of makeup product. The options were a few shades of “be a bombshell lipstick” and another lipstick brand. I had missed the be a bombshell eye crayon and sis not want to miss another product so I selected “Intoxicated”. It a very pretty berry pink shade.

Before writing the post I tried the lipstain. The shade is not berry as I had thought it to be however, I am happy it is looking good on me J . The lip stain dries immediately, so be very careful while applying it. Make sure you have a little bit of lip balm on before applying this.  If you are someone like me who likes to know the taste of your lipstick(😜) you might not have a very pleasant experience. It is bitter in taste.

Iba Halal Care Nourishing Foot Massage Cream [Full Size – 95 INR] –
Its winters and time for those dry and cracked feet. Thus a foot cream in the bag is surely a big Thumps up!!

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil [15 ml travel size sample] -

From the day my first stretch mark appeared I have been eyeing to try on this product. However due to the high cost I never could buy the full size. The sample will be of great help in checking out its effectiveness and then I can purchase the full size if it really works.

I loved that the packaging. It is a roll on kind of a tube.

Natural Bath & Body Thank God It’s Friday! Hair Mist [525 INR for 100 ml, 50 ml deluxe sample in the bag] –

I have used facial mists in the past. But a hair mist!! This is a new concept. This would be nice to have when you want to smells fabulous in a party!  The sample size is quite easy to be carried around in your purse.

I liked most of the products in the December FAB BAG.  I would probably suggest fab bag to improve the bag quality as it actually is the show stopper of their subscription.
Overall, I think Fab Bag has done a pretty good job with the last Fab Bag of 2016.

My Nykaa Haul

Hey everyone!!🤗

So you must be knowing that Nykaa had this amazing winter sale going on from start of December and there were quite a few things that I was eyeing and got them at quiet a good discounted price in the sale.

They had upto 30% off on all makeup products and an additional 5% if you make a prepaid order, which I thought was very smart and good in a way..who had that much of cash anyways for COD orders.😄

So Kapila and I decided to splurge on some of the makeup products that we wanted to buy. I will be sharing overview of all the products that I got for myself, in this post because I will be doing a seperate review for all the products later.

So starting off, I was quite interested in buying Maybelline's V-face range which they recently launched before Amazon Fashion Week. I mean, i have been using high end contouring and bronzing products and was secretly wishing if there could be any drugstore brand coming up with these kind of products and my prayers got answered. 😇 I got some of the other products that I was wanting too.

So here is the list of the products got from  Nykaa sale.

1. Nykaa Gold Rush nailpaint duo - I like the packaging..its handy cute and compact. I am still to use them but I am already in love with the colours. The shades I got are,
121- Gold soul
122- Champagne gold.
Both the colours are shades of gold but with totatlly different reflexes.
They were priced at Rs. 249 each for 9ml and as a combo they were for Rs.498 and I got them at discount for Rs.468.12.

Gold Soul

Champagne Gold

2. Nykaa BLACK magic Liquid Liner -
I was in need of a black liquid liner, so I decided to give this one a go. It is priced at Rs.299 for 5ml of product. Packaging is cute and sturdy but nothing fancy. Jet black packaging with nykaa written on it in silver. I got it in shade 01 Super black. Comes with a outer pack which is pink in colour.

3. Loreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner -
I have heard so many people raving about this liner and I was out of my Plum kajal. So I got this one in the shade 210 charcoal Charbon. This indeed is a very pigmented and very creamy. It is priced at Rs.575 but I got it for Rs.460 as Loreal products too were on 20-30% off.

4. Maybelline V-FACE duo stick -
Absolutely love the packaging of this one, reminds me so much of Nyx's contour stick. Its handy and the shade I got is medium-dark. This was priced at Rs.650 and since maybelline was at 30% off I got this for Rs.553.

5. Maybelline V-FACE blush contour -
I was not quite sure how the blush contour worked but i wanted to give this a try, so I got this in shade PINK. I din't have a good pink blush and this looked like a good pigmented blush. This was priced at Rs.550 for 4g of product but i got this at Rs.468 after discount.

6. Maybelline V-FACE duo powder -
This looks like promising product. I like the packaging. All the V-FACE range products comes with a small brush with it which I liked. This is all in one product with the bronzer and compact clubbed together. I got it in shade Medium Dark. It is priced at Rs.550 for 8.5g product and after discount I got this for Rs.468.

7. Maybelline Lash-Sensational Mascara-
By the end of this blog you guys must have seen I have got the products i was in total need .😂 And its true I was using maybelline Hypercurl mascara for quite a long time and this mascara was wooing everyone hence I got this one for trying. The pacaking is simple and decent nothing fancy. I like the colour of the bottle which is rose-gold and the name written in black. I got it in waterproof variant. Hoping for best with this one. This mascara is priced at Rs.500 for 9.0ml of product and I got this for Rs.450.

Thats it guys, these are all the products I got from the Nykaa winter sale. Kapila will be soon sharing her haul post with you all with lots of amazing stuff she has got, you guys wouldn't want to miss that post.😍

I will be doing a full detailed review of the V-FACE range by Maybelline. So stay tuned for that.😄

Till then be classy and fabulous. 😎

Lots of love,
Priyanka. 💛

Packing Essentials for Winter Vacations

Winters are here and soon it will be the time of the year when schools/pre-schools/playschools will be closed for winter vacation.

I really look forward to holidays/vacation time
  1. I love travelling to new places.
  2. Being a working woman, these vacations give me reason to take a break from work and give all my time to my little one.
With travel comes the responsibility of packing stuff which is going to help have a peaceful and enjoyable time while travel and during the vacation. I have learnt a lot of things and thus thought to share how/what I pack when we are going to a cold (weather wise off course ☺) place for vacation.

I have stopped carry that double/triple load of things I used to carry when Gaurika was a little baby. However, I still have to keep a lots of toys/activities that she is happily comfortable and engaged.

Here's a checklist of things I packed for our winter vacation in no order of preference:

Clothes, socks, and shoes(OFF COURSE!! )

I have mostly packed dark colors so that the stains and dirt can hide well. I am also carrying clothes for layering up to stay prepared for the extreme cold.  I don’t prefer frocks and frills in this weather hence Jeans, warm lowers with tops/shirts/sweaters.
  1. Few snuggly sweaters
  2. A warmer
  3. Sweater shirt
  4. Cotton full sleeves t- shirts
  5. Fleeced lowers
  6. Jeans
  7. Cotton socks
  8. Warms socks

Yes, the list looks long but I haven’t packed truck load of all these things. Its 1-2 of each of these things and hence the clothes have fit in the carry-in luggage size suitcase.

A sneak peak into what all I packed for Gaurika. Do check out the video.

·    Diapers

Gaurika is still learning and accidents can happen. Hence I carry some diaper.

One thing I have learnt about the count of the diapers, estimate your child’s diaper usage per day and when you have the final number add 2 extra diapers to the count. Somehow or the other those extra ones are saviors most of the time.

Wipes

For cleaning, wiping hands and face on the go

Blanket

I used to carry 3-4 earlier but this time Gaurika understands the need of wearing warm clothes and hence carry only 2 to get her some comfort and warmth if it gets really cold.

Plastic bags

For keeping the spoiled clothes, shoes and off course disposing off the soiled diapers.

Toiletries

  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Travel size bottles of body wash, shampoo and body lotion
  • Toddler toothbrush and toothpaste.

Toys and books

Her favorite toy and books.

Some colors and blank sheets.

Sippy cups and water bottles

So that she is always hydrated and active. Plus the bottles acts as a source of water for all of us.

Lightweight plastic feeding set with utensils

I used to carry 2-3 sets of utensils earlier. From this time it will be only 1 set.

Snack food

Kept some biscuits packets, cup noodles for midnight snacking. Some chips. I am also going to take homemade paranthas, so that when she is hungry she can have those small bites high on energy.

Medicines

By now, we know what medicine help her during her illness. So I have a first-aid box kinda ready with us always which has medicine for mild fever, cough, cold, vomiting, stomach upset. For minor injuries, I have kept pain reliever and aids for treating them.

I have one main bag with all the stuff and 1 small bag from travel time with 1 extra pair of clothes, all the snacks and medicines and diapers in it.
Our bags are packed and we are ready to go!!
Do leave your comment/feedback on how helpful the list is for you or if you have anything to share about your packing list.

Also, let us know if you would want me to blog about our vacation in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Happy Holidays everyone!!
Lots of Love
